Privacy Policy
About this policy
This policy explains how Northeastern Software Services LLC handles information in Rewindi, our click-wheel music player for iPhone. Rewindi does not require a separate developer account or operate a developer-hosted backend for your music data.
Information the app processes
- Music access: with your permission, Rewindi uses MusicKit to browse your library, including songs, albums, artists, playlists, and genres, and to play music.
- Apple Music services: the app reads authorization and subscription availability and can request recently played items, recommendations, and radio stations when Apple's services make them available.
- Searches and playback: catalog search terms, selected music, and playback requests are processed through Apple's services. Apple may process listening activity as part of providing Apple Music.
- Track details and artwork: titles, artists, albums, artwork, queue information, and playback position are used to show the player. Artwork is downloaded from URLs provided by MusicKit.
- Local preferences: your selected body finish, shuffle and repeat modes, clicker preference, and authorization-prompt state are stored using iOS app storage. Debug builds also store the Preview Library preference locally.
How information is used and shared
Rewindi uses this information only to provide its music player and remember your settings. Now Playing details and playback controls are shared with iOS to support the lock screen, headphones, and system media controls. Background audio allows playback to continue while the screen is locked.
We do not sell your personal information, build advertising profiles, or send in-app usage analytics to our servers. We do not receive your Apple ID password or payment information.
Apple handles MusicKit, Apple Music, and related network requests under its own terms and privacy policy. Those requests can disclose information needed to deliver the service, such as your search query, requested media, and network connection information. An Apple Music subscription may be required for catalog features.
Your permissions and choices
Rewindi asks for access to your media library and Apple Music through the iOS permission prompt. You can deny or revoke access in iOS Settings at any time. You can still explore the shell and color settings without granting Music access; music features that need that permission will not work.
You can change the app's preferences in Rewindi Settings. The Debug Preview Library uses clearly labeled, silent sample items instead of Apple Music recordings; it is not included in Release builds.
Storage and retention
Preferences remain in the app's local storage until they are changed or the app's data is removed. Music metadata and artwork may also be cached by iOS or Apple's frameworks. Deleting Rewindi, rather than offloading it, removes its local app data, subject to any backups you control through iOS.
Deleting Rewindi does not delete your Apple Music library, Apple account, or information retained by Apple. Manage those records and any device backups using Apple's account and device controls.
Support and security
If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to include so we can respond. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive account information. Support correspondence is separate from the app's music features.
We minimize developer-side data collection by keeping app preferences on your device and relying on Apple's music services. No device or network service can be guaranteed completely secure.
Children's privacy
Rewindi is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through the app. Apple account and Apple Music use remain subject to Apple's eligibility rules and parental controls.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or its data practices change. The effective and last updated dates above will reflect those updates.
