Information the extension processes
Futurista requests access to your browser history and bookmarks. When you type in the new-tab search field, the extension searches those items locally to show matching suggestions. It processes the search text you enter to perform a search when you submit it.
How information is used
Browser history and bookmarks are used solely to provide matching suggestions in the Futurista new-tab page. The extension does not use this information for advertising, profiling, analytics, or any purpose unrelated to its core functionality.
Data storage and sharing
Futurista does not operate a server or account system for this extension, and it does not send your history, bookmarks, or suggestion data to Northeastern Software Services LLC.
When you submit a search, Chrome sends the query to your selected default search provider. That provider's privacy policy governs its handling of the search query.
Permissions
- History: used to find relevant local browsing-history suggestions.
- Bookmarks: used to find relevant local bookmark suggestions.
- Search: used to submit your search through Chrome when you choose to search.
Your choices
You can remove Futurista at any time from Chrome's extension settings. You can manage or delete your browser history and bookmarks through Chrome. Removing the extension stops its access to these permissions.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the extension changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when changes are made.
